Cherupayar parippu payasam is one of the most common dishes in the Kerala onam sadya. For that it prepared with coconut milk and jiggery. Here it is the quick and easy version.

- Cherupayar parippu-1cup
- Milk-1litr
- Cardamom powder-1/4 tsp
- Sugar-1/2 cup
- Ghee-4tsp
- Cashew and raisins-few
- Coconut pieces-to season
- Wash and drain the cherupayar parippu.
- Roast it with2 teaspoon of ghee till nice golden in color.
- Put it in the pressure cooker with water; cook till ¾ th done.
- Heat milk and sugar in a pan.
- When it boils add cooked cherupayar parippu.
- Stir well until it starts to thicken.
- Add cardamom powder and switch off the flame.
- Season it with fried coconut pieces, cashew nut and raisins in ghee.
