Sev pakoda


Sev pakoda or kara sev  is a deep fried quick snack recipe. The dough should be neither too soft nor too hard. By using different moulds we can different shapes of sev.


Ingredients:

  1. Besan flour-1cup
  2. Rice flour-1/2 cup
  3. Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  4. Chilly powder-1tsp
  5. Asafoetida-1/4tsp
  6. Salt-to taste
  7. Butter melted-1tbsp
  8. Oil-to deep fry

Preparation:

  • Mix everything except oil.
  • Add water little by little and make soft; sticky dough.
  • Put the dough in to the idiyappam mould (big circles not very small).
  • Heat oil in pan; press the dough in to the hot oil in a circular motion to form a layer.
  • Fry  ( medium- low heat) till both sides are golden brown in color.
  • Drain it in to a paper towel.  Store it in an airtight container.
