Sev pakoda or kara sev is a deep fried quick snack recipe. The dough should be neither too soft nor too hard. By using different moulds we can different shapes of sev.

- Besan flour-1cup
- Rice flour-1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
- Chilly powder-1tsp
- Asafoetida-1/4tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Butter melted-1tbsp
- Oil-to deep fry
Preparation:
- Mix everything except oil.
- Add water little by little and make soft; sticky dough.
- Put the dough in to the idiyappam mould (big circles not very small).
- Heat oil in pan; press the dough in to the hot oil in a circular motion to form a layer.
- Fry ( medium- low heat) till both sides are golden brown in color.
- Drain it in to a paper towel. Store it in an airtight container.
