Falafel Recipe


Falafel is a deep fried ball or patty with chick pea or fava bean or both. Its a traditional Middle East cuisine. Its served as a snack. You can make sandwich and shawarma roll using these falafel bites. Use coriander leaves and mint leaves instead of cilantro according to your taste. Falafel

Ingredients:
  1. Chick peas-1 cup
  2. Parsley leaves chopped-2tbps
  3. Cilantro chopped-2tbs
  4. Onion-1small
  5. Garlic cloves-2
  6. Cumin-1tsp
  7. Pepper powder- 1tsp
  8. Salt-to taste
  9. All purpose flour-4tsp
  10. Baking powder- ½ tsp
  11. Oil-for frying
Preparation:
  • Soak the chick peas in water for overnight.
  • Put the drained chickpeas and all other ingredients except flour, baking powder and oil in a blender.
  • Blend well without adding water. (If necessary add 1 or 2 tbsp of water)
  • Mix it with flour and baking powder sifted together.
  • Mix the dough in to right consistency and keep refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Make small patties or balls with it and fry it in hot oil till both sides are golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels. Serve it with thahini sauce or hammus.
