Mayonnaise Recipe

Making homemade mayonnaise is a simple process and it takes only few minutes. But we have to take care of few more things. Always choose the egg that is fresh, wash the egg shell properly with soap and water (rinses and dry), because of raw egg and bulk of oil it is not recommended for young children’s and elderly persons. Use the correct amount oil and then only you will get the desired thick consistency.
Ingredients:
  1. Whole egg-1 (or 2 egg yolks)
  2. Mustard powder- ½ tsp.
  3. Salt- ½ tsp.
  4. White vinegar-1tsp
  5. Oil (plain flavor like sun flower oil, canola etc.)-1cup
Preparation:
  • Please read the above paragraph first.
  • In a blender add egg, mustard powder, salt, vinegar and ¼ cup of oil.
  • Blend on low for 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn off the blender and add another ¼ cup of oil and give a blend.
  • Add the remaining ½ cup of oil with two additions.
  • Blend until it gets the desired consistency.
  • Refrigerate in a n non-reactive container.
  • (if you need more flavors add ¼ tsp of desired seasoning like paprika, chilly powder for mayo chilly and garlic for mayo garlic).
  • Note:If you want eggless mayonnaise; then replace the egg with 1/4 cup of fresh cream.
