Malabar Chicken Curry

Chicken curry is a common delicacy in South Asia. Here is the recipe of Kerala nadan chicken curry, which has a aromatic flavor of all spices along with coconut milk. It is one of the simplest chicken curry recipes that can be cooked within no time.

Ingredients:
  1. Chicken- ½ kg
  2. Onion-2small
  3. Tomato-1medium
  4. Ginger garlic paste-1tbsp
  5. Green chilly-2nos
  6. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  7. Chilly powder- ½ tsp
  8. Coriander powder-1tsp
  9. Pepper powder- ½ tsp
  10. Garam masala- ½ tsp
  11. Salt- to taste
  12. Thick coconut milk- ½ cup
  13. Oil-2tbsp
  14. Coriander leaves-few
  15. Curry leaves-1string
Preparation:
  • Take a large pan and heat oil, sauté onion till golden.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, curry leaves and green chilly, sauté till raw smell goes off.
  • Add turmeric powder, sauté for a minute.
  • Add all the powders one by one in the simmer mode and mix well.
  • Add chopped tomato in to it. 
  • Sauté well until tomatoes are mashed well.
  • Add chicken pieces in to it along with salt.
  • Cover the lid and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Add ½ cup of coconut milk along with a cup of boiled water in the chicken.
  • Cook covered for about 20 minutes or until the chicken pieces are cooked well.
  • Switch off the flame and sprinkle coriander leaves on top.
  • Serve it with roti or rice.
