Serradura / Sawdust pudding

sawdust pudding

Serradura or Sawpudding is a simple dessert but super delicious in taste. It is a lovely combination of biscuits and cream. It’s a favorite combination for me and I made few desserts with this combo. These include Biscuitpudding, custard biscuit pudding etc.  The biscuit-cashew powder looks like dust and hence the name Sawdust pudding.

Ingredients:
  1. Thick cream / whipping cream -250ml
  2. Marie biscuit-10nos (or any plain biscuit)
  3. Cashew nut- ½ cup
  4. Milk maid- ¼ cup
  5. Pistachio-to garnish
Preparation:
  • Grind the biscuits and cashew nuts together.
  • Mix thick cream with milk maid, mix well.
  • In a glass add few teaspoons of biscuit cashew powder as a layer. Make sure it covers the edge and sides of the glass.
  • Above that add few teaspoons of cream as another layer.
  • In such a way make biscuit and cream layer until it reaches the top of the glass.
  • Garnish with grinded pistachios on top.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour to set and serve cool.
Note: if you are using whipping cream whip it with milk and vanilla essence and when it reaches just before the peak point add the milkmaid and beat for a minute.

You can add mixed fruits in to this and serve it as mixed fruit delight.
