Cabbage Manchurian



Cabbage manchurian is a chewy soup starter or served as an accompaniment with fried rice.
For Cabbage balls:
  1. Shredded cabbage-1 1/2  cup
  2. Finely chopped green chilly-1 tsp
  3. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt-little
  5. Flour / maida- 3 tbsp
  6. Corn flour- 2 tbsp
  • Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl,  make round shape balls out of it.
  • Heat oil in a pan; fry these balls on medium low flame until nice golden in color.
  • Drain in to paper towels and keep aside.
Ingredients For The Gravy
  1. Oil-2 tbsp
  2. Chopped garlic- 1 tbsp
  3. Chopped ginger-1 tbsp
  4. Chopped green chilly-1 tsp
  5. Chopped spring onion-2 tbsp
  6. Chopped onion-1 small
  7. Soy sauce- 2 tbsp
  8. Tomato ketchup-2 tbsp
  9. Chilli Sauce- 1/2 tsp
  10. Corn Flour- 2 tbsp
  11. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  12. Salt-little
  13. Water
  14. Red food color-a pinch
Preparation:
  • Heat oil inn a pan; add sugar, when it gets browned add chopped garlic, ginger and green chilly.
  • Saute for two minutes and add chopped onions.
  • Saute for about two minutes and add all the sauces.
  • Add pepper powder,  water and food color. When the water gets boiled add cornflour (by diluting with little water in a paste form).
  • Add cabbage balls and salt.
  • Cook for about two to three minutes and switch off the flame by sprinkling spring onions on top.
