As its name implies it’s a simple curry originated from Lahore-Pakistan. Now it’s served all over the World restaurants. Even though everyone is making the same named curry with lots of differences; Here is a basic curry recipe among that.
Ingredients:- Chicken- ½ kg
- Oil-2 tbsp
- Cardamom-2 nos
- Clove-2 nos
- Bay leaf-1
- Cinnamon-1 small stick
- Pepper corns- ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
- Onion thinly chopped-1
- Ginger garlic crushed-1 tbsp
- Green chilly-2 nos
- Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
- Chilly powder-1 tsp
- Coriander powder-1 tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Tomato thinly chopped-1
- Thick curd- 3tbsp
- Tomato ketchup-2 tbsp (optional)
- Garam masala powder- ½ tsp
- Coriander leaves thinly chopped- 2 tbsp
- Heat oil in a pan; add cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon, pepper corns and cumin seeds.
- When it splutters add onion and sauté until nicely browned in color.
- Add ginger garlic crushed in to it and sauté for a minute.
- Add chicken pieces along with turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, salt, curd, green chilly and tomato.
- Mix well for a minute and add a cup of hot water in to it.
- Cover cooks it for about 25 minutes or until the chicken pieces are gets cooked well and oil flots on top.
- Add tomato ketchup and mix well.
- Then add garam masala powder and coriander leaves chopped.
- Mix well and switch off the flame.
- Serve hot with basmati rice or the choice of your Roti.
