Ingredients for marinating:
- Fish- 1/2 kg (any big fish) cubed
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste- 1tsp
- cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
- salt-to taste
- oil-for frying
- Onion-2 nos
- Tomato puree- of two large tomatoes
- Ginger garlic crushed-1 tbsp
- Green chilly slit-2 nos
- Curd-1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Chilly powder-1 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
- salt-to taste
- Marinate fish pieces with ingredients under marination for 30 minutes and shallow fry it in hot oil for few minutes until both sides are just cooked (about 5-10 minutes; no need to browned).
- Take it out from the oil and keep aside in a plate.
- In the remaining oil; saute onions until transparent.
- Add ginger garlic crushed and green chilly; saute for a minute.
- Add all the powders one by one in low flame by mixing well in each addition.
- Add curd and tomato puree.
- Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add cooked fish pieces along with 1/4 cup of hot water.
- Cook for another 5-10 minutes until the fish pieces get cooked properly by immersed in the thick gravy.
- Switch off the and sere hot with steamed rice.
