Mushroom masala

 
Mushroom masala is a healthy, delicious side dish served along with roti or chappathi. It is quite easy to make and its nutritious values are really high.  Clean the mushrooms properly before cooking. Put some turmeric powder in the lukewarm water and put the mushrooms in it for 15 minutes. Drain it and cut it in to small bite sized pieces and start making mushroom masala.

Ingredients:
  1. Mushroom-250gm
  2. Oil-2tbsp
  3. Shallots-1/2 cup chopped
  4. Onion-1 small
  5. Garlic crushed-2 pods
  6. Green chilly-1
  7. Curry leaves-1string
  8. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  9. Chilly powder-1/4tsp
  10. Coriander powder-1/4tsp
  11. Garam masala-1/4tsp
  12. Pepper powder-1/4tsp
  13. Salt-to taste
Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a pan; sauté shallots and crushed garlic.
  • Add curry leaves and onion; sauté until transparent.
  • Add all the powders one by one in a low flame and mix well.
  • Add chopped mushrooms in to it.
  • Cook it in a low flame for 10 minutes. Then it will reduce the quantity; at this time add enough salt.
  • Add less than ¼ cup of hot water in to it and cook for another5-6 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  • If you need dry gravy; no need to add water in to it.
  • Serve hot with rice or roti.
