Potato Masala Recipe

Potato masala is a spicy yummy dish having perfect compliment with poori. It goes well with appam, chappathi and idiyappam also. The potatoes cooked with onion and spices really tastes awesome. 

Ingredients:
  1. Potato-2medium
  2. Oil-1tbsp
  3. Mustard seeds-1tsp
  4. Urad dal-1tsp
  5. Dry red chilly-1
  6. Curry leaves-1string
  7. Onion-1
  8. Tomato-1
  9. Ginger garlic paste-1tsp
  10. green chilly-1
  11. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  12. Chilly powder-1tsp
  13. Garam masala-a pinch
  14. Salt-to taste
Preparation:
  • Splutter mustard seeds in hot oil.
  • Add urad dal, red chilly and curry leaves.
  • Add onions in to it and sauté until transparent.
  • Add ginger garlic and green chilly; sauté until raw smell goes off.
  • Add all the powders in to it and sauté until dark.
  • Add tomato chopped, mash well until completely melts in the gravy.
  • Add potato pieces in to it and cook covered for 15-20 minutes.
  • Cook it until potatoes are cooked well and reach in to soft mashed consistency.
  • Mash some of the potato pieces with a ladle to get thickness for the gravy.
  • Sprinkle some coriander leaves and serve hot with Poori.
