Prawns Roast / Prawns Masala

Prawns masala is a spicy and tasty side dish that goes well with any roti and rice. The prawns along with the onion and tomato gravy is really delicious and quite easy to make. Only common ingredients for a curry is also used here, but the correct sautéing makes all the dishes really yummy.

ngredients:
  1. Prawns-250gm
  2. Oil-2tbsp
  3. Fenugreek-a pinch
  4. Onion-1
  5. Tomato-1
  6. Ginger garlic crushed-1tbsp
  7. Green chilly-1
  8. Curry leaves-1string
  9. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  10. Pepper powder- ½ tsp
  11. Kashmiri chilly powder-1tsp
  12. Garam masala- a pinch
  13. Salt-to taste
  14. Coriander leaves-few
Preparation:
  • Marinate the prawns with ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, ½ tsp of pepper powder and salt for half an hour.
  • Add a tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan and roast the prawns for 5 minutes on both sides.
  • Mean while heat a tbsp of oil in large pan, splutter fenugreek.
  • Add onion and sauté till golden in color.
  • Add ginger garlic, curry leaves and green chilly.
  • Sauté until the raw smell goes off.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilly powder and garam masala; sauté for a minute.
  • Add chopped tomato and sauté well until all the tomato pieces get mashed well.
  • Add roasted prawns in to it along with ¼ cup of hot water and salt.
  • Cook it for about 5 minutes or until the gravy reaches the desired thick consistency.
  • Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves on top of it.
