Puffy Poori Recipe



 Poori is a very popular Indian recipe. It is very easy and simple to make. Usually it makes with wheat flour. But we can use maida also. The difference is that when we are using maida we get a nice colour poori. But here I prefer wheat flour to make poori; which one is the healthier choice. The best complement with poori is potato masala.

Ingredients:
  1. Wheat flour-1cup
  2. Salt-to taste
  3. Water- about ½ cup (make a pliable dough)
Preparation:
  • Mix the flour with salt well.
  • Add water little by little and make smooth dough.
  • The dough should not be sticky.
  • Make small balls with it.
  • Roll small circles with medium thickness. Don’t make too thin circle, then the poori didn’t puffed.
  • Deep fry it in the medium heated oil until both sides are golden in color.
  • When you put the poori in the hot oil, keep pressing it with a ladle; so that it becomes a wonder puff.
  • Serve hot with potato masala.
Note: If you want your poori to be puff fore more time add a teaspoon of semolina along with the wheat flour.
