Doughnuts Recipe

Fried dough nuts have been made all around the world. It is a deep fried piece of dough, often mixed with various sweeteners and flavorings. The puffy, crusty dough nuts covered with beautiful toppings are always attractive and easy to make.

Ingredients for doughnuts:
  1. Maida-2cup
  2. Milk-3/4 cup
  3. Melted butter-1/4 cup
  4. Sugar-2tbsp
  5. Active yeast-1tsp
  6. Salt-1/2tsp
  7. Oil-for deep frying
Ingredients for glazing doughnuts:
  1. Powdered sugar-1/4cup
  2. dark cooking chocolate-100gms
  3. Honey-1/4cup
Preparation:
  • Make the milk little warm, add sugar, salt and yeast. Mix well.
  • Add butter and flour; knead smooth dough.
  • Generously spread some flour on the working place and roll the dough in to a big circle of ¾ cm thickness.
  • Cut in to round dough nuts with a glass and make a small hole in the Centre with a small bottle cap.
  • Put it on a tray and brush with little oil on top to avoid dryness.
  • Cover it with kitchen towel and keep aside for 2 hours until puffy.
  • Heat oil in a large pan and gently place the doughnuts in to it.
  • Fry on low flame until they are golden brown in color.
  • Pour it in to a tissue paper.
For sugar glazing:
  • Put the hot doughnuts in to powdered sugar and dust it.
For chocolate glazing:
  • Melt cooking chocolate in the double boiling method.
  • When it melts completely add some powdered sugar in to it.
  • Put the doughnuts in to it and dust it.
For honey glazing:
  • Mix the honey with little powdered sugar.
  • Put the hot dough nuts in to it.
  • Serve after the doughnuts cool completely.
