Cutlet is an easy and tasty tea time snack that a patty is covered with bread crumbs and fried it in the oil. We can make it using vegetable, fish or meat filling. You can prepare the patty in advance and store it in the freezer for easy use. Here is the simple recipe preparation of delicious fish cutlet.
Ingredients for fish Masala:- Fish- 1//2 kg (any big fish) (or fish fillet)
- Onion-1
- Ginger, garlic, green chilly chopped-1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp.
- Pepper powder-1 tsp
- Coriander powder-1/2 tsp.
- Salt-to taste
- Fish masala powder- 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala-1/4 tsp
- Coriander leaves-few
- Potato-1 large
- Eggs-2 large
- Bread crumbs- ¾ cup
- Cook the fish pieces by adding little salt, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp of pepper powder and 1/2 cup of water for about 8-10 minutes or all the water gets dried off.
- Remove the thorns (if any) and mince the fish pieces. Keep aside.
- In a pan heat a teaspoon of oil; sauté onion.
- Add ginger, garlic, green chilly chopped; sauté till the raw smell goes off.
- Add all the powders for masala.
- Add minced fish and coriander leaves in to it.
- Cook whole potato with little salt and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker until cooked soft.
- After cools down peel the skin and mash the potato well without any lumps.
- Mix it with fish masala.
- Now divide the fish masala in to medium balls.
- Grease your hands with oil or water.
- Take a ball and make a half inch thick patty out of it.
- Beat the eggs with little salt and pepper powder in a wide plate.
- Dip the prepared chicken patty in it and then dip it in the bread crumbs and coat well.
- Prepare all cutlets in this way.
- Heat oil in a pan; shallow fry the cutlets on both sides in low flame until browned.
- Take in to paper towels and serve hot with a cup of tea.
